The brand new album "Love in a Time of Disaster" presents the sounds of Sincerely, Iris fully realized in a band setting. Joined by Chip Hale on bass and Jon Chadwick on drums, the previous stripped-down sounds of Todd Murray are still there: driving percussive acoustic guitar and spooky slide blues played on his 4-String Homemade License Plate guitar. But now, these tender acoustic underpinnings are contrasted against the pile-driving blues rock of songs like "It's Coming Back to Get You Now" and "Love on the Screen."
A brand new full-length album from Sincerely, Iris AKA Todd Murray. This album is Todd's most intricate and fully realized to date. The album almost has a Jekyll and Hyde quality that can be seen at Todd's live shows. The first half of the album leans towards blues and showcases the Homemade 4-String License Plate Guitar while the second half resembles the folk introspection of Todd's earlier releases.
Iconic stories of Mark Twain floating on a riverboat or Bonnie and Clyde running from law enforcement weave their way into the writings of Todd Murray’s newest EP, “Trouble.” Murray has always referred to his songs as road trip music, and his latest highly anticipated album is no exception - a sort of vintage Americana.
The last experimental blues album “License Plate Sessions,” which was recorded almost entirely with his homemade 4-string slide guitar, marked a new direction for Sincerely, Iris, but that style seems to have seeped into the music permanently on “Trouble.”
From the cold winds of Chicago and the risk of going out on your own to the vastness of the Rocky Mountains, this album takes a look at the bumpy road that is The American Dream.
